Setting up the Calendar widget on iOS takes a few easy steps:

Make sure you have the Skiff Calendar app downloaded from the App Store.

On your iPhone or iPad, long press an empty area of your home screen to open edit mode.

Tap the "+" button to bring up a list of widgets available on your device.

Search or scroll down to "Skiff Calendar" and tap to add the widget to your home screen.

Make sure you are signed in to the Skiff Calendar app.

The Skiff Calendar widget displays your upcoming events in a compact and easy-to-read agenda format. This includes events in the current day, as well as events on future days if they can fit into the widget. You’ll also see start and end time information, event descriptions or meeting links, and your chosen event colors.

The Skiff Calendar widget integrates seamlessly with Skiff Mail. Skiff Calendar automatically adds incoming events from your inbox directly to your calendar, which will subsequently populate in your home screen widget.

What if I don't have the Skiff Calendar app?

You can download the Skiff Calendar app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Can I use the Skiff Calendar widget with other calendars?

All invites from other calendars (Google, Outlook, Apple) will populate in Skiff Calendar. However, you cannot use the Skiff Calendar widget to display other calendars, such as Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar.

How do I add or remove the Skiff Calendar widget?

You can change the settings for the Skiff Calendar widget by long pressing the widget and removing it, or adding it with the + button and the instructions above.

Today, we're announcing an all new Skiff Mail mobile app. With an order of magnitude better performance, an entirely new user interface, and full offline support, the new mobile apps make it easier than ever to stay in touch on the go.

In this blog, we will walk through all changes to the Skiff Mail mobile apps and how to upgrade. We’ll cover how you can navigate the new interface, how to set up Skiff Mail on your phone, and how offline mode works. We’ll also offer a few previews on upcoming features soon to be released.

Downloading or updating the app is incredibly easy. Follow

 to download or update your app on the Apple App Store. Once you download or update the app, you can either create a new Skiff account or sign in with any existing account. If you are already signed in, you may need to log out and log in to complete the update process.

The new Skiff Mail, mobile apps are between five and 20 times faster to open, navigate through your inbox, and read emails. This massive performance improvement was achieved with an entire technical rebuild of the mobile app. Now, your local device efficiently caches information about your inbox, enabling you much more efficiently, read and manage your emails.

The new app supports a powerful and fully functional offline mode. For skiff users, who may not always have an Internet connection, have lower Internet speeds, or are simply trying to minimize data usage, offline mode is a critical feature, and is now available to everyone.

You can even keep using the app offline, including reading, emails, replying, labels, or sending messages to different folders. All the updates you make, while offline will later be synced to your web inbox.

New Skiff Mail mobile apps launch

 in May 2022, hundreds of thousands of new users have tried our privacy-first, end-to-end encrypted email product. As users start the journey to private email, we've heard countless requests for better features to manage, organize, and sort your incoming emails.

We're excited to announce that mail filters - one of the most powerful ways of staying organized - are released. Filters enable you to automatically keep your inbox, sorted, organized by labels or folders, and tidy from spam or unwanted messages. Whether you've been experiencing annoying, inbound, spam, or frequent repeated messages from a single sender, set up a Mail filter to never be bothered again or to keep track of your most important communications.

To start, navigate to the Skiff Mail app on a desktop web browser, or on the desktop app. You can view your Mail filters from the Skiff Mail, mobile apps, but only create them on the web. Next, open settings from the left sidebar. Then, choose the filters option on the left.

To start, click the “Create new filter” button.

You'll then be able to give your mail filter a name, like “move emails to spam,” "recruiting, emails,” or “sort, custom domain email.”

You can then add filter conditions. Click add condition and choose from a “from” address condition or a “to” address condition, with more coming soon.

Then, choose a set of actions for your mail filter. This includes applying a label, moving mail into a folder, marking it, as read, or unread, or marking it as spam, inbox, or trash.

Mail filters are a powerful feature that are available on every skiff plan, including the free tier. However, the free tier is limited to only two mail filters.

On the Essential, Pro, and Business tiers, you can access 

. Each paid plan also offers numerous additional features, including extra email, aliases, more folders and labels, custom domains, and additional storage space.

Are mail filters available on the free plan?

Yes! Every Skiff user can use mail filters for free. However, on the free plan, you will be limited to two mail filters scroll up to see the different plans that are available, including the business plan, which offers how many deadmau5 filtering for any of your aliases, folders, and labels.

Yes. Any Skiff Mail mobile app user can navigate to settings and view mail filters. However, the mobile filter settings are currently limited to view only; you are required to navigate to the desktop or web app to set up new email filters.

What kind of actions can you perform in mail filters?

Mail filters are a powerful tool for keeping your inbox organized. You can easily use mail filters to mark mail as read, apply labels, move, mail to folders, or move them into your spam, trash, or archive inboxes.

In this blog, we’ll walk through the new Skiff Contacts features built into every Skiff Product. In addition to customizing contact preferences and settings, your contact list makes it easier to share, invite, or email any of your friends, colleagues, or family members.

Skiff Contacts is built into every Skiff product: Mail, Pages, Drive, and Calendar. From the contacts settings page, you can create new contacts or update any existing contacts, including name, email address, and custom profile pictures for every contact.

Any member of your organization will automatically be added to your contact list, keeping your colleagues immediately within reach.

Sending a calendar invite? Sharing a Skiff Page? Sending a critical end-to-end encrypted email?

Skiff Contacts are automatically synchronized across every Skiff product and application. Your contact list is a single source of all suggested recipients, making sure you always email, share, or invite the right people.

Whenever you email a new address, a contact is automatically created in your contacts settings. Initially, only an email address will be autopopulated, but you can easily customize additional fields, including first name, last name, preferred color, and a unique profile picture for your new contact. Contacts are also automatically created whenever you send a calendar invite to a new email address.

At any point, you can delete, remove, or modify contacts from the contacts 

, which is accessible from any Skiff product (Mail, Drive, Pages, and Calendar).

As Skiff Mail becomes even more powerful with more spam, filtering, and inbox organization features, contacts represent a reliable, trustworthy, and transparent way to keep your inbox private and safe. Contacts help filter out any unwanted email, spam, and senders who may try to phish or impersonate legitimate contacts.

Skiff Contacts launch

From any Skiff Page, click “Publish” to generate an end-to-end encrypted public link that can be shared with anyone on the web - including people without Skiff accounts.

Public Pages also publish all subpages, making it easy to share newsletters, wikis, job boards, or any other documentation for your team.

You can create a public Skiff page by clicking “Publish” from the top right corner on any web platform. Once published, the URL in your web browser will be changed to your Page’s public URL. This can be shared across the web and will make a Page (and all subpages) accessible to anyone, even those without Skiff accounts.

Celebrating a birthday, planning your schedule, or organizing a team standup? Recurring events are now available in Skiff Calendar.

Recurring events allow you to repeat a calendar event every day, week, month, or year - or at a custom interval that you choose.

Every Skiff account automatically has access to a private, end-to-end encrypted calendar. You can easily schedule events with any Skiff or non-Skiff user, RSVP to incoming events, and share updates with event changes.

Skiff Calendar automatically synchronizes with Skiff Mail, ensuring that your schedule is always up-to-date. This includes adding, removing, or updating events from forwarded emails. So, if you forward your Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or other inbox to Skiff, your Skiff Calendar will be updated without any additional configuration needed.

Now, Skiff Calendar becomes even more powerful with recurring events.

, click “New event” or select an open time in your calendar. Then, add any event details - a title, color, description, guest list, or video conferencing link. To make the event recurring, click “repeats” and select from the options presented (daily, weekly, yearly, and custom).

Recurring events in Skiff Calendar

Now, you can embed private meeting links inside Skiff Calendar with Jitsi - the leading provider of private, convenient video calls.

Jitsi offers an impressive combination of practicality - with dial-in numbers, screen sharing, and more - as well as security, with the option to enable end-to-end encryption and no accounts required.

To add a meeting link with Jisti, simply click “add Jitsi meet” after creating a new event. The link will automatically be added to your event details and shared with other Skiff users or external attendees.

Recurring events with Jitsi links will maintain their video link for all future events. So, when you add a link to a recurring event, every meeting in the future will be automatically upgraded to include a video call link.
